Advocating and Educating Ethical Trapping since 1975
The Alaska Frontier Trappers Association is based in Southcentral Alaska, and is dedicated to promoting the professional ethics and practices in the trapping of fur bearing animals. We work to educate fellow trappers, children and the public in general about trapping as a necessary wildlife management and research tool.
We work in cooperation with other organizations to promote the wise and sustainable use of alaska's natural resources.

Trappers Association Meetings
Trappers Association Meetings are held to discuss local trapping issues, ethics and upcoming events. If you miss a meeting make sure to check out the AFTA News where you can find the Meeting Minutes!
Meetings are the first Tuesday of every month September - May at the Palmer Public Library located at 655 S. Valley Way.
Rendezvous Dinner & Auction
All funds raised at this event are used to fund scholarships, trapping schools, demonstrations, informational appearances at outdoors shows and events to educate the public on safe and ethical trapping practices.
Scholarships
The Alaska Frontier Trapper's Association offers two scholarships, one scholarship for women to attend the 'Becoming a Outdoors Woman' workshop and another general academic scholarship for Alaskan residents looking for extra help with those pesky school expenses!
Trapping School and Education
The Alaska Frontier Trapper's Association hosted Trapping School offers the education of safe, ethical trapping to new, or expirienced trappers alike looking to learn!
