A.F.T.A. General Meeting
Tuesday November 4, 2014 -- 7:00pm (start)

No Demo

New Business:

-- Future demos:
December - Lynx trapping and deep snow - Jim Spaulding
January - Hay Sets - John
February - marketing furs (2 day class?)
March - Open water beaver trapping/castor mounds - Steve Schafer
April - Open water muskrat
May - possible bear snaring class

-- Kirstin Lawland (sp?) - motorized use of trails in Jim Creek area - would like A.F.T.A's continued support. Steve Schafer motion to write a letter to support borough plan. Seconded by ?? -- all in favor, none opposed, passed unanimously.

-- Letter received from from Fur Takers of America on 'lawsuit' in Maine to ban bear baiting. They are asking for our support and a donation of $500.00. Jim Spaulding suggest earmark for legal funds only. Earl Bragg motion to donate $500.00 and earmark for legal funds, Steve Schafer second -- all in favor, none opposed, passed unanimously.

-- Creating our own manual and packet of information for dog release from 330's. Strong, durable zip ties were located for approx. $68 for 100 of them, 3' long, good to 40 BELOW. That would create 50 packets. Can use A.T.A's pamphlet, but would like to create our own. Steve Schafer motion to purchase zip ties to put kits together and make brochures, Jeff Tuttle second -- all in favor, none opposed, passed unanimously.

-- Suggest to pull A.T.A/A.F.T.A to work together in teaching the annual trapping school - this is ONLY to work together for the school, NOT to combine organizations. School would potentially be held in Birchwood area.

-- Clarification on prizes given away at trapping school

-- Outdoorsman show in March 27, 28, 29 - cost has been approx. $237 but due to increase - unknown price at this time. Need someone to chair event and volunteers.
